Koh SUEDA

Zango-an is a Japanese style temporaly tea ceremony house was built in the campus applying "借景（Borrowed scenery)" to harmonize the nearby environment of the campus. In that time of the tea house was built, the campus had a lot of construction sites. Zango-an exploited and used materials in the construction site to harmonizeto the campus landscape. In contrast, interior of this tea room make the space that upside down the lightness of thesky and earth. The floor of this tea house glow as sunlight in the night time to invite the guests to unexpected experience.

 

塹壕庵は、武蔵野美術大学構内に仮設された半地下の茶室である。茶室や日本庭園の設計では周辺環境との調和を意識して、設計物周辺の環境要素のとの融合をはかる「借景」の手法を用いる。2000年当時、当大学のキャンパスは新校舎の建設により、キャンパス内の至る所に足場用や鉄パイプや土嚢など建設資材置き場があったため、この風景を借景とした外見をもつ。一方で茶室は深さ２メートルの地中に露天で設えらているため、内部に入ると空や土嚢、建築資材が強調されてかつ外部から隔離された感覚を与える。また、夜になると畳全体が発光し、天地が逆になったように感じる効果がある。
